If I owned Adult Swim

This is kind of a random pokematic thing, so no theme.

Adult Swim had a bumper that said they would sell themselves for $500, so this is what I would do if I owned Adult Swim. For starters I would get rid of the crap. None of their bad shows, all gone. Lets see what I would get rid of, I'll make it easier by just listing what I'd keep. I'd keep King Of The Hill, American Dad, Robot Chicken, Super Jail, Boondocks, Harvey Birdman-just because I love Hanna Barbara and their jokes about that, what's left of the anime, and just because I know it pulls ratings, Family Guy.

Please note that there are a total of 4 origional Adult Swim shows, and none of which are their lame live action shows. Adult Swim makes there origional live action shows, gives them tones of promotion, and then I doubt that they get ratings. But instead of canceling them and focusing on what they have that's good, they keep drawing atention to their crap with more promotion and just brush off their good with a "Yeah we got these good shows, but hey check out this crap."

I might be wrong. Maybe Eagle Heart, Check It Out with Dr. Steve Bruel, Childrens Hospital, Aqua Teen Hungar Force, Venture Bros, and the like to pull ratings. Who am I kidding? I heard that their Toonami April Fools Joke brought in more ratings than they've had in a long time.  I'm also kind of new to Adult Swim, having only started to really watch it within the last couple of years. But from what I remember, they didn't suck like now.

I'm being to harsh on them. They don't suck, too much. Granted, most of the origional stuff that they advertize isn't on at decent hours, and that which is good is on when I'm up. I just really hope they step up their act, because it's just, No.

A great weekend for a 90s kid

Oh wow, what a great weekend for a 90s kid.

If it's not a good game or catholic...who do you call?...Why Pokematic "hi."

I was planning to do this as a video, but didn't get the time, and if I don't do this now, I will forget details. I hope you forgive me.

OK, so this weekend was an amazing weekend for us 90s kids. Cartoon network/adult swim made me so happy. First was Friday night, then Saturday night. Friday night was OK and Saturday was just amazing. I'll start with Friday.

I was watching Cartoon Network on either Wednesday or Thursday and I see this commercial promising old school Cartoon Network cartoons, "like the power puff girls, Dexter's lab, fosters, and more." I'm telling my friends so lets see how it was. Well it was hosted by the guys from Space Ghost that sang "what day is it?" Their names are like blark and zork or something like that. Now this is the closest we've had to cartoon cartoon Fridays in a long time. Sure they weren't new cartoons, but they were the same cartoons from back then, plus it was hosted by cartoons, not humans! It wasn't super nostalgia nerdgasm, but pretty good. Lets see...there was Dexter, Fosters, Johnny Bravo, Power Puff Girls, and Cow and Chicken. This all happened in an hour from 8 pm to 9 pm. They didn't have the theme songs, mainly because they only showed one of the episodes each, and at times blark and zork seemed to take focus off of the cartoons, but oh well. I got some nostalgia from my Friday nights at my grandparents. But this is nothing compared to what would come.

I'm watching Adult Swim like I do most Saturday nights. Gonna watch Boondocks, Bleach, and Full Metal Alchemist. Imagine my surprise when I hear TOM and see the Toonami bumps. Just check these videos. (Now is when I would splice in clips from the following if this was a video.)

Happy Gamer tears of joy for Toonami - The best home videos are here

Really, when I heard TOM and saw the toonami robot thing failing to get into the ship, I legit cried tears of joy. TOM back from the dead, enough to make a college man cry. We had Bleach at 12 midnight, as normal, but instead of the typical anime we have on Adult Swim late night, we got classic Toonami anime, starting with Dragon Ball Z. I read that the selection of episodes was based on either climactic parts of the series, near the series Finlay, or the series finaly. Here's some great planning, the episode of DBZ they chose was more or less the next episode that would have aired right after Toonami was canceled all those years ago. I also watched Gundum wing and Tenchi Muyo. Sorry if I misspelled them. I would have stayed up later, but I was tired, and I had mass the next day. I couldn't afford to stay up all night to watch it, unfortunately. Not only did TOM introduce the next show, but he did a review for Mass Effect 3, giving it an 8.5/10. I sure hope this wasn't a 1 night April Fools thing, because if it is, it will be the cruelest joke ever. There is a little reason to think it might be, because these were very select episodes, and there was an ad for the DVD box set during a break for every anime. I sure hope not, because Toonami on Adult Swim, catering to the adult fan base that it has, would work great, just like 90s are all that on TeenNick. Here's the deal, I wouldn't care if it was just the current anime line-up on Adult Swim Saturday night, and TOM was hosting. Here's the great thing, you can contact Cartoon Network/Adult Swim here, and tell them what you think about it if you watched it. Even if you weren't fortunate enough to watch it, still contact them and say you want it. Just go to programing, and then Toonami, and let them know what you think. I already did. I sure hope TOM is there to greet us next Saturday night.

Well this has been Pokematic signing off and bu-bye.

For sticking with me, here's a bonus review, of the 2012 kids choice awards. I watched the pre-show online, and the backstage commercial interviews during commercial break on their online stream, along with the actual KCA on TV. This might just be bad memory, but this year they did something new. For about half the awards, they just had some-one who worked at nick, like the cast of supah ninjas, just say the winners for a category with no real recognition. And while some were some no-name awards, they just glazed over favorite cartoon. Come on. The back stage interviews weren't as great as last year. Jeff is a much better back stage interviewer than Danella. Oh well. Katy Perry was looking rather bad that night. Normally she looks great, even in nerd, but with the upwards Pony Tail thing, and her general get up, I didn't even recognise her until Danella told me it was her. Katy, you are a beautiful woman when you look your normal look. You aren't the freak GaGa, and it really works for you. There was a fair amount of slime, so yaySasuke smile where the corners of his mouth lift up. The slime wrestling was interesting, better than the typical extreme sports guy doing a trick into a pool of slime, and it wasn't over hyped like it was a couple of years, where all they did was talk about how cool it was going to be and then it was just a minute or so. This was "hey were gonna do this," and then it happened, and it did last some time. I was expecting it to last a little longer, but oh well. Now I'm really gone.
